Sanctuary Video Conference

We created Café Sanctuary to help people.

Although we have been through some rough times over the past year, our desire to empower women is still strong. We may not have had the time to fully devote to our cause but rest assured that we are still here, willing to help anyone who needs it.

With that in mind, we want to become more “visible” and “interactive” with our blog followers and/or anyone else who may need help. Enter “Google Hangouts”.

Every week, we’re considering setting up a video conference, during which anyone who joined could share stories, ask questions, request further support or simply listen, without feeling pressure to talk. Anyone who joined the conference would be assured anonymity, if necessary ~ no cams required to participate. There is a Google Hangout app, for those with smartphones; as long as you have a wi-fi connection, you can connect from anywhere. One on one sessions are possible, too, if you don’t feel comfortable sharing with a group.

Just to note: We are not licensed counselors; we are doing this on the basis of our experiences and knowledge of domestic violence. No expert medical advice will be given during these video conferences; we are merely providing a safe place, to share our stories and offer support, insight and useful resources.

If you’re interested in participating and/or have any questions about Google Hangouts or the proposed conference, please send an email or leave us some feedback via the form. Watch this space for dates and times.

Take care and be safe.
